One year after my stroke, I found out I was pregnant! I wasn't supposed to have kids. At the time, I was married almost 9 years and was happy being a fur-mama. We had an English Mastiff named Romulus, he was my baby. When I found out I was pregnant, I was in disbelief! At first, I thought my stroke was messing with me, so I decided to take a pregnancy test. When you have a stroke, or at least in my situation, and my husband out of town, it magnifies my deficits. I've come to accept my stroke and determined not let it get the best of me (you know, fake it till you make it even if you never do), but raising a baby/toddler by yourself is HARD! It doesn't matter if its a day or days by yourself, it's tough.
