About Me
I was raised in the small town of East Aurora, a suburb of snowy Buffalo, New York. I spent the first ten years of my life growing up on a horse farm. My husband (Ted) and I went to the same high school and have been together since 2002. We successfully made it through long distance, the Marine Corps and Iraq, and now a stroke! 2018 was a bittersweet year. We added a healthy baby boy but lost Romulus is our English Mastiff.
I am a small business owner, Wealth by Empowerment, financial planning. I’ve been called a perfectionist, and detailed work is challenging for me, so I had to face reality… I gave away all of my clients in 2017 because I didn’t feel it was fair to them to work with someone that wasn’t 100%.
Before my stroke
Giving back and helping others has always been very important to me (it still is). I was an active mentor with Take Stock in Children and City Year. Throughout the years I’ve donated time and resources to Mastiff Rescue of Florida, The Great Ponte Vedra Paddle Benefiting HEAL, and JA Girl$. When I was not working or volunteering, I liked to stay active. I used to love exercising, running and playing soccer. When it came to relaxing, I practiced vinyasa yoga and loved to read (I have a soft spot for romance novels!).
